Our Venues

Herding

Our Herding Trial venue is the home of our Trial Secretary Heather Forbes, and we thank Heather and Ron for their generosity in making this lovely site available to us for the 2008 National.

Glen Erran is located on 75 acres of beautiful Oxford County farm land, outside the village of Thamesford. Heather and her husband are the fifth generation of Forbes to farm this land. The farm is home to a commercial flock of approximately 100 head of mixed breed sheep, a small herd of cattle and a few Welsh Harlequin & Blue Swede ducks.

Glen Erran is also home to Glen Erran Australian Shepherds, and offers a boarding and grooming facility, and both private and group Herding lessons to all breeds of dogs using sheep, cattle and ducks.

Starting in 2002 with a 70 ft. round pen, their herding facility continues to be a work in progress.  Over the years they have fenced several areas and now offer the following: 70 ft. diameter round pen.  66 x 90 ft pen, 180 x 300 ft. trial field, 180 x 600 ft. field & a 6 acre field.

Ingersoll is only a ½ hour drive from our Conformation/Obedience venue and Glen Erran is host to a number of Breed Club sponsored Herding Trials throughout the year.

Glen Erran is located just off Highway 401, approximately 1½ hours west of Pearson International Airport in Toronto,  2 hours east of Detroit Metro Airport and 15 minutes east of London International Airport.

Camping is available on site, sorry no hookups...
